Barbara Benfield is honoured

Posted Fri 3rd November 2017 at 11:21

Community champion Barbara Benfield MBE was praised as "an Island icon" in the glowing tribute to her at a vin d'honneur.

Ms Benfield was retiring from her role as Home Help Co-ordinator for the States of Alderney, after nearly 30 years spent caring for the elderly on Alderney.

"I think it's fair to say that none, in her time, has had a more positive effect on this facet of Island life," said President of the States of Alderney, Stuart Trought.

The Guernsey Bereavement Service has made three visits to Alderney over the past few months and would like to continue to help you. We are visiting the island again on Tuesday, 12th November 2013 and would invite anyone who feels they would like Bereavement Counselling to telephone the Bereavement Service Office on 257778 to make a time to meet one of our counsellors.
